Characteristics of Excellent Bulletin Boards

When you use the bulletin board there are some characteristic that is necessary to follow, in putting it up, be guided by the principles of balance which means that everything should be placed in a good order, unity which means that everything should be to together , harmony, proportion and contrast with color because everything should be combined, also you can find in youtube tutorial to know how combine colors.

It should be with finished edge because bulletin board looks better if it has a frame, but you should find out a frame that has a good color, avoid the use of very striking frames, as well as very charged, preferably of a single color, since the contents could be lost of attention.

It must be fixed on the wall, all the bulletin boards must be place on the wall to prevent accidents, and avoid some kind of chaos in the classrooms or somebody hurt because of that. Try to locate the bulletin board according to the eye level of your student because bulletin board usually are in an eye adults level, keep in mind that not all the children are tall and count the students with special needs at the mime of making interactive bulletin board in the classrooms.

It must be colorful and attractive,to create an eye catching bulletin board use a plain color for the background versus a pattern; because a pattern tends to distract the eye and take away form the content that is being display. Leave the pattern colors for the buttom or for the students work.

Avoid overcrowded display, have at least a unified theme for clarity. Bulletin boards are means to look appealing not cluttered with bunch of information, so display only a few items on each board and make sure to use properly, choose your location wisely. Location is the key if you want to get the attention of your students or  to get anything out of your bulletin board, you can consider some locations like: on the wall, on the classroom’s door, near a learning center, or create a traveling board.
